Kayla began her counseling career as an intern with Pine Valley and recently finished her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. She uses a variety of psychotherapy approaches and is flexible in finding ways to meet her patients’ needs and has decided to combine her two passions into developing a specialty in animal assisted therapy.
Shay and Ted, Kayla’s two therapy dogs are goofy, sweet and excited to be a part of our team as well. Shay spent the first few years of his life as a service dog on the UW-Madison campus but was too friendly for that type of work, deciding that therapy was the perfect fit for him. Ted is Shay’s nephew and is in training, looking forward to making people smile and help them overcome life’s obstacles. When Kayla, Shay and Ted are not busy helping others they enjoy lots of time out in nature… of course!
